Estes Park

Hello all. Unfortunately, I have no pictures for this post (I'm sure we'll get them posted soon) since I'm posting from work, but just thought I'd update everyone about our vacation in Estes Park. We did have one significant development...

Will has learned to crawl. So, we now have two mobile babies. He's still a little unsure about it, and he doesn't go far, but he's getting better at it every day, and I'm certain it won't be long until Laura is chasing them both around the house on a daily basis. I think it's time to begin the baby-proofing in earnest.

Estes was a lot of fun... as usual. But this time, in addition to our friends, Matt & Shauna from Dallas, we had Dan (my brother) & Lisa (his wife) from Austin. It sure was a LOT of fun to have friends and family there. Laura got some time away from the boys. Dan and I got some good bike rides in, and the boys had fun at the cabin and taking a hike or two... or should I say being carried on a hike or two.

I'll wind this up for now. Pictures will be forthcoming soon, I promise.

The Laughing Duck

Here's a funny video of the twins that I took on Sunday during dinner. Will was just tickled by Alex, and started laughing. Suddenly, everything was hysterical to him. Here's some video I was able to get. Oh... and as you'll see, Alex has a blast making raspberry noises with his food.

The Denver Aquarium

Today, we took the boys to the Denver Aquarium. It was our first visit, too, since moving to this area three years ago. It was a really cool experience. I like aquariums, and Denver has clearly worked hard to make its aquarium a top-notch show. The highlight of the tour is rather unexpected at an aquarium, but there were tigers! Really a neat exhibit, except I didn't get any good pictures of the tigers. However, here's a set of pics from the trip (oh, by the way, we went with some friends, Khristin and Bill Dickey... Khristin is pregnant with their first child, a boy due in October, about a year after our boys were born).

EDIT

As you'll see in the pictures, the boys were wearing their maillots jaunes in honor of the start of the le Tour de France. For those interested, Fabian Cancellara won the Prologue time trial by 13 seconds and begins the Tour wearing the maillot jaune.

Khristin took a family portrait of us with the Aquarium mascot. I'm not sure what his name is, but we just called him "Sharky." :) I don't think the boys really knew what was going on.

This was a nurse shark sitting near the bottom of the tank. You can barely make out the front of the stroller at the bottom of the picture. The Boys were on level with this shark, and seemed to take an interest. Alex leaned forward to see if he could get a better look.

This is Bill holding Will inside a little "bubble" in one of the tanks. You could crawl in and stick your head up "into" the tank and be right there among the fishies. Will had a blast with it.

Here's me doing the same thing with Alex. He didn't seem too into the whole process.

This was the highlight shot of the day! I put Alex down in that little alcove, and he put his hands up against the glass and was just fascinated with the fish swimming by.

This was the shark tank. Alex was watching the shark swim by while Will was getting a helping hand from Mommy.

And another picture of the boys (and part of Laura) in front of the shark tank.
