Waddling (and Talking) Duck

It's taken a little longer than we thought it would, but Will has finally decided that walking is a good thing. In just the last week, he's been walking a whole lot more. It was so cute about a week ago, because he would walk toward you just giggling and laughing!

Will has also been improving his talking. Although I don't have any video of it, he's gotten very good at repeating "Dada" and "Mama." He doesn't say it on his own yet, but usually will readily repeat it. Alex isn't progressing quite as fast with his language. He loves to babble, still but doesn't parrot back what we say to him. Of course, he's been walking since August, and is now literally running around the house.

A Day at the Zoo

We went to the Denver Zoo on Sunday with Aunt Marcy. This was a trip we had planned to do several weeks ago, but between getting the basement finished and the stomach flu, we had to push it back quite a bit. Unfortunately for us, this was "free" day at the zoo... which means admission was free, and thus, it was really crowded. We did manage to have some fun, though.

The Kangaroos

You can't see them in the pictures, but here are Marcy, me and the boys standing in front of the Kangaroo pen. In the second picture, Alex has just thrown his sippy cup over the balcony. I guess the emus and kangaroos got to enjoy some apple juice today! Mmmmmm!

The Train

The Zoo has a little train that does a short loop around part of the park. The boys love trains, and this one was just as much fun as their favorite train in Northfield. I think they take after their Uncle Dan.

The Pachyderms

This is Will and me in front of the elephant pen. Will was ascinated by the enormous animals. He stared at them for a long time, watching them eat hay with their trunks.

Quackin' Bananas for Halloween!

Yesterday was Halloween, and the boys got into the spirit despite still dealing with mild cases of the stomach flu. Will dressed as a duck (of course!!!), while Alex paraded around in a monkey suit (an actual monkey suit, not a tuxedo), which was also very fitting for his personality.

Laura had a photo shoot with the boys, and took lots of pictures, including the ones shown here. Our neighbor, Lindsay, who dressed as a cheerleader for Halloween, even got in on the photo shoot. As you can see from the last picture, Alex is still quite the ladies man! I don't think Will was feeling particularly well, though. He looks like quite a dour little duck.
