Brush 'em Toofies

The boys are finally "brushing their teeth" on their own. I'm ashamed to admit that we haven't been very good about doing it consistently for them, and I put that in quotation marks, because I seriously doubt much brushing is going on. But oral fixation seems to be in full bloom around the Colorado Perkins' home. They certainly do like to chew on the brushes, and I suppose that chewing is better than nothing, but we need to get them working on it better. Best to develop good habits early.

Here are three pictures of Alex brushing his teeth. Sorry about the blurriness. I took them on my phone, and the little bugger wouldn't stay still. Imagine that!

If you're interested in the etymology of this posting's title, ask Mother Perk. I recall her saying it many times to us as children, but I sure don't recall how it got started.

I have NO idea of the origin of "brush'em toofies." I think I picked it up from you guys. One of those cutsie early language things that became a family fixture. There are many more, but at the moment my mind is blank. You'll be sorry, Steve, when I think of more, because I will post them for all to see. The Fam will see them and remember and feel all fuzzy. Friends and blog spies will think we're all nutz. Maybe they're right. . .
